With four years left to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals, the 2026 UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi this December is a major political opportunity to accelerate action on water and sanitation and build a unified agenda that turns momentum into results. Water and sanitation shape the health of whole economies, not only of individuals. They underpin climate resilience, food security, education, jobs, and prosperity.

Reliable water sustains livelihoods, and safe sanitation prevents deadly disease while freeing the time and dignity that poor services deny. The Conference is the moment to give water and sanitation the political priority they deserve, at the highest levels of government.

SWA stands ready to work alongside the co-hosts, the co-chairs of the Interactive Dialogues and other development partners to drive that agenda forward.
